About Us

Greene Intermediate Center has an environmental focus where students in grades 5-8 explore trails, study animals in their own habitat, and grow their own produce in the outdoor learning center.

Greene Intermediate Center was named after the John G. Greene family who first visited Northern Indiana in 1830 and established Greene township. The first building was opened March 3, 1930. The school consolidated Greene Township to one school from the eight one-room schoolhouses scattered across the township. Greene's first class graduated in 1934 had just ten students.
